The short version
GoodNews Share is built to help people share the good news. We keep things simple: we store the messages you write and, if you sign in, the basic Google account details needed to attribute them to you. Your public messages are, by design, shareable — that’s the whole point.
What we collect
- Messages you create — the title, body, Bible verses, and theme you choose.
- Google account details (if you sign in) — your name, email address, and profile picture, used to build your profile.
- Activity — likes and reposts you make, so we can show them on the feed and your profile.
- A handle — if you don’t sign in, we generate a random anonymous handle for your messages.
How we use it
To show your messages and profile, attribute authorship, power the public feed, and generate the share links you send to others. We never sell your data.
What’s public
Anything you post with the feed visible is public and can be seen by anyone, exactly as you intend when sharing good news. If you’d rather a message only be reachable by its link, you can turn off its feed visibility when creating it.
Where it’s stored
Data is stored on our hosting providers: Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (application hosting). Background images load from the Unsplash content delivery network.
Cookies
We use an authentication cookie so you can stay signed in. Nothing else — no ad or tracking cookies.
Your control & deletion
You can delete any message you’ve created, sign out at any time, and contact us to request deletion of your account and data.
